Mayor Ouzts: “Mr. Price you made a phone call to city hall yesterday and demanded to know Why did the Mayor Pull the chief off the Agenda?”
Alan Price: “That is correct” and I never got an answer. But because I asked a question…
Mayor Ouzts: “ You jumped to a conclusion about something you didn’t know anything about.”
Alan Price: “ The reason why I did that, when she told me that you said it was not to be put on the Agenda at that time, I called the City manager and she called me back.. I really appreciate it. And she told me that she did not know, that there was nothing to be on the Agenda about. That’s why I brought it to the attention. Cause I was told, I was told, by Mr. Burnett that he thought he was on a presentation.
Mayor Ouzts: “Why don’t you let Mr. Burnett handle it”?
Alan Price: “Well I’m a citizen, I pay taxes. He can handle, he’s a big boy. I’m the taxpayer here. It’s our money as a taxpayer. And I’m speaking for myself and a lot of taxpayers that are willing to pay that $1500.00 If we had to I’m sure, I mean you’re going to get some out there that comment out there that Whoa” they don’t deserve it. I mean they can say that.
Mayor Ouzts: “ I’ll make a deal with you” You pay half and I pay half. You and I”
Alan Price: “$750.00”
Mayor Ouzts: “Yeah” You and I will take care of it.
Alan Price: “Sounds good to me. You know me. I’m a man of my word.
Mayor Ouzts: “ Alright, let’s do it. I’ll write my check now” You want to write yours?
Alan Price: “We’ll do it for a year, I’ll give you my credit card, I don’t have my check with me. If you’re playing a game with me, that’s no problem.
Mayor Ouzts: “ Bring your check down here tomorrow.
Alan Price: “Ok, that’s fine. You take care of the Fire Dept for a year.
Mayor Ouzts: “We will take care of it for this year”
Alan Price: “OK, I’ll take care of the Fire Dept.
Mayor Ouzts: “ OK great!”
Alan Price: “Same thing with the Police Department. Our Police Dept is one of the finest Police Depts we have. These people are upset Mayor, because somehow, this thing turned this whole thing ball of a game and it shouldn’t have never happened. These people wouldn’t be here. They have better things to do. They have other things to do, they wanted to be with their families when they have the time to be with them.
Mayor Ouzts: “So would I”
Alan Price: “ Oh well, you’re the Mayor. You took on a responsibility as a Mayor of this City and you’re supposed to over look what goes on.
Mayor Ouzts: ‘ and I do that”
Alan Price: “ Well I will be down with my check in the morning. Ok. Thank you.
Mayor Ouzts: “Ok” We will still resolve how it will be handled long term, but you and I will take care of it this year.
