Welcome to WS. Not only are the residents here blessed by unregulated jet noise and exhaust, they also are exposed daily to endless waves of pollution from vehicle exhaust from the numerous highways that encircle this town. The layers of orange soot that fall from the endless burning of diesel and gasoline as well as jet fuel, accumulate on cars and can be seen by all residents daily as they prepare to go to work, way outside of the town. Our children are affected by the noise that is a huge part of living in this town, road noise, deafening jet engine noise, manufacturing noises and demolition, all play a big part in our childrens', and unborn childrens' nervous system development. Our town used to be run by folks that had an aggressive attitude about doing something to folks that live in town--harassing select individuals until they move or go nuts or get sick and die, any of which are goals followed by some city officials and city staffers. The ongoing policy of change has happened so long in this town that most of the businesses have left the area and moved into more stable surroundings. The lack of understanding on the part of some city officials that have a nazi like policy of uniformity and conformity regardless of the cost to residents, and don't fix it if it aint broke, even if it looks like hell, have continued to keep white settlement in a run down, shabby condition. White Settlement is the ideal setting at times for individuals that love oppression and harassment of others and many have moved to this area to practice just that. The current "good city"image that our officials are trying to portray, can change in one election back to the former hard line political image of "git r done", "run em off", "deer in the headlights","we got the power you don't" attitudes that made this town what it is today and will continue to raise its ugly head in the future. A chronic condition that debilitates any town where some officials and residents cannot keep their mind on the job of serving the public, respecting others property rights, and choosing a realistic approach rather than choosing a darker path.
