Hello friends, I think this new year should begin with a big THANK YOU to Jimmy B,cm for WS and the new attitude that he has brought back to the city. Back a few years ago, I can remember when this town had another game going.

Instead of the city govt here working on their responsibilities, they chose the cheaper way of harassing residents under the guise of cleaning up the city...telling everyone that their run down properties...WERE KEEPING BUSINESSES FROM COMING HERE. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT BUNCH OF CRAP? Well under Mayor James Ouzts and Gunnar Rassmussen., Danny Anderson, Steve Thompson and Wayne Feeler(deceased) and Councilman Cash, this lie and many others were perpetrated on the residents here, right after the last elections...claims of WE WERE MANDATED TO DO THIS...were tossed around at council meetings. MANY RESIDENTS WERE FORCED TO MOVE OR REBUILD THEIR HOMES.....BECAUSE OF THE LOUSY MIDDLE MANAGER TYPE OF LEADERSHIP OF CM DENA DANIEL.

This type of thing kept going for over two years. The blame game was used to cover this and other presumptions perpetrated by that administration, several of whom remain in office for this city at city hall.

Dena Daniel is gone, so is her outlaw in chief James Cowey and his toady, Jimmy Ross....but the damage that they have done to this town lives on.

Some would have you believe that it wasnt the fault of the folks in office during those years....it wasnt their fault that they hired such a loser city manager, it wasnt their fault that they ignored the numerous resident and landlord complaints.....it wasnt their fault for the injusticed done to residents by the folks that they themselves hired and gave a pass to when complaints surfaced.....

Well I am thankful that those days are .....on a pause right now....the endless building and grabbing land....is down right now..due to the real estate slump....so I am enjoying the few months of peace till the next election...

As I watch minorities 'take over' the city government here politically, I can only wonder what lies ahead for this next year.....I hope it is something good for all of us.

THANK YOU JIMMY B AND STAFF for bringing the euthanasia(decades long city policy of killing animals that are brought to the pound or caught within a few days) of WS animals down to 0.....I hope the animal control facility gets completed soon and that our city can end this chapter of abuse of animals that call our town home...if our city shows that they will not kill poor animals anymore maybe the residents here will learn that they should not be cruel to animals either....it is horrible to have a neighbor that kills and maims poor animals and I hope that our city in adopting this new policy toward animals will get some of these abusive residents to stop their destructive and hurtful behavior toward our pets. Again I say THANK YOU JIMMY B. AND EVERYONE ELSE RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING THESE CHANGES.

Hmmmm. Many of the homes along the creek were owned by absentee landlords or slumlords. Kevins did not get run out of town, he moved to a different location on WHITE SETTLEMENT ROAD.

The residents and businesses in question were obvious...by the numerous empty/ for sale signs in a lot of the yards at the time and since that time, I know of several folks that got special attention from Cowey (runoffees) and had to go to a lot of expense to satisfy his unreasonable demands... the endless 'unsafe to occupy' tags that kept being placed on the windows of residences all around town, especially along the creek(buy out prep.)and the empty business buildings that dot the landscape along our main roads. Even Kevins Hometown furniture is gone now....
I watched as the owner was harassed endlessly over that flower shop. I guess their master plan is now to put a gas well on that property? Wonder if a well there would pose much of a health and safety threat to residents in that area?

OK here we go VOTEING 101!! If you asked every single person registered to vote the majority would of them would have simular ideas about issues but come election day for some reason this same majority of people for some reason develope amnesia and forget where the polling place is and so 2 or maybe 3 small groups end up deciding for everyone. Now this is not unique to White Settlement it happens all over America and it is shameful, people want all the rights and freedoms but can't seem to take 30 minutes or an hour out of their year to make their wishes be known. We should all make an extra effort to keep an eye on this Council and also to encourage others who are not tied to either of the current political groups to get involved and to run for office we need to oust the whole lot of them and start over. No more road to nowhere projects, no more unfriendly business policies, no more heavy handed dealings with the citizens.
