hope mr. white and his group get as many people as they can to sign the letter for the newspaper to support james ouzts. looks like ouzts will be back in again. would everyone please put your ads in as soon as possible, we need to keep james ouzts as our mayor, he can bring us a new chapter in our city. please put your ads in now to keep ouzts.

    Don and Garry were beaming like new Dad's when our new councilman showed up Tuesday night. They were tripping all over themselves trying to get around to shake his hand. I am sure they are thinking "3 to 2" in their favor again. I am lookng forward to the first real vote after Hatcher is seated.

    do not be hating...... i was comparing this turn out to other local election turn outs over the past 10 years. for a long time only 300 or 400 people called the shots for the rest of us. sorry about the 20 or so error, my point was that all those who voted for James, did not vote for Gunnar, all of those who voted for Gene, did not for Todd. Voters are showing themselves to be independent thinkers. i believe Gene will do a great job............

    Of those running, only three candidates received contributions   (two mayoral, one council). Mayoral candidate Danny Anderson received $500, while Jerry Burns received $2100 from two donors. Incumbent Ouzts reported no campaign contributions.

    Gene Hatcher, Place 1 candidate, received the most money, $3,500 total from two donors.

    According to public records, a donor named John R. Zimmerman gave the most money to campaigns, throwing down $2,000 apiece to Gene Hatcher and Jerry Burns. His $4,000 contributions make up approximately 65.6% of the total reported campaign contributions in White Settlement for the May 10 election. Again, according to the public records, Zimmerman lives off Hulen, which is not actually in White Settlement. What is your interest Mr. Zimmerman? WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH?

    With three candidates running for mayor there's always the possibility that no on candidate will receive the coveted 50+% of the vote. Such is the case in White Settlement as Jerry R. Burns falls about 1.5% of the vote below the mark. Burns and runner up incumbent James O. Ouzts will meet again in the upcoming runoff election.

    Always have loved lori, we just do not agree on politics   (school, local, and i almost sure we do not agree on national). I could have swore she was in the class of 77, but i read she graduated in 76 recently. still she is and always has been a sweet and wonderful home girl.
